Department of Teacher Training, Physical Education and Management of Education
The Department of Teacher Training, Physical Culture and Management of Education was established on September 01, 2019 from the departments of Education and Physical Education and Sports, each of which has a long history since the foundation of Donetsk State University. The head of the combined department is Associate Professor, Doctor of Pedagogical Sciences Martynets Liliia. The department has a highly professional teaching staff consisting of professors and associate professors, senior teachers and teachers. The department performs work in the main areas: educational process, scientific research, educational and methodological and educational work.
History of the department
By decision of the Academic Council of Vasyl’ Stus Donetsk National University from August 28, 2019, the Department of Teacher Training and Management of Education (until 2015, the Department of Teacher Training and Department of Management of Education) and the Department of Physical Education and Sports were reorganized by merging into a new structural subdivision – Department of Physics and education management. All departments are one of the oldest departments of Vasyl’ Stus Donetsk National University.
The Department of the Management of Education was founded as a graduating class in 1988 at the Faculty of Retraining and Advanced Training of Management Teachers of Donetsk National University (until 2000, Donetsk State University). For more than 30 years, the Department of the Management of Education provided training for heads of educational institutions, their deputies, staff reserve, teachers of educational institutions. Since 2003, the Department of the Management of Education trains specialists in the program “Management of the educational institution” (heads of educational institutions), since 2012 – under the program “Teacher Training of higher education” (teachers of institutions of higher education), continues to provide course training for heads of educational institutions, their deputies, personnel reserve, teachers of the above programs and more. All specialties of the department have IV level of state accreditation.

Providing students with a complete and logical and consistent system of knowledge about management in education and management of modern educational institutions; preparation of students for management activities in educational institutions and formation of their readiness to use the acquired knowledge in the post of head of educational institution.

Training professionals who, based on the new philosophy of higher education, can professionally apply modern methods and forms of teaching in higher education.
