History

The Educational and Scientific Institute of Chemistry, the Faculty of Biology, the Department of Pedagogy and Education Management, as well as the Department of Physical Education and Sports were merged to create the Faculty of Chemistry, Biology and Biotechnologies on September 1, 2019.

The Faculty of Chemistry (since March 1, 2018 – the Educational and Scientific Institute of Chemistry) is more than 50 years old (year of foundation – 1965).

The first dean of the faculty was Marx Mokhosoiev, Professor, corresponding member of the USSR Academy of Sciences, Doctor of Chemical Sciences.

Klavdiia Feldberg – Associate Professor of the Department of Botany, candidate of agricultural sciences, was also one of the first who headed the faculty.

Professor Z. Usova, Doctor of Biological Sciences, became the first dean of the Faculty of Biology

General information about the faculty

The Faculty of Chemistry, Biology and Biotechnologies was created by the union of the Faculty of Biology, the Research Institute of Chemistry (until 01.03.2018, the Faculty of Chemistry), the Department of Pedagogy and Management of Education and the Department of Physical Education and Sport on 01.09.2019.

The history of both faculties is more than 50 years old (founding year – 1965).

The Faculty of Chemistry, Biology and Biotechnologies has a highly professional teaching staff: professors and associate professors, the vast majority of whom are its graduates. Now the Dean of the Faculty is a Doctor of chemical sciences, prof. Shendryk Oleksandr.
